Raja Rammohun Roy Mahavidyalaya : National Service Scheme

Raja Rammohun Roy Mahavidyalaya : 52 Years Of Service To The Rural People In A Remote Area

The National Service Scheme was introduced in this college in the year 1969 with a view to disseminate education, social awareness, life style education horizontally and also to establish a social co-operation between the students and the villagers. The N.S.S has not remained only a co-curricular activity among the students of this college but has really become a bridge to meet up the gap that higher education faultily creates between the students and the common lot. Keeping this aim in view, the five units of N.S.S at Raja Rammohun Roy Mahavidyalaya extend their social service activities in the locality to share their philosophy of life and attitude to living with their neighbours. The N.S.S units of this college organize One Day camps, special camps apart from their normal development programmes to perform the social activities pertinently. The college has the favourable atmosphere of academic activities along with the supporting attitude to inspire the students towards social service. Under the umbrella of National Service Scheme the units of this college will surely become an example of a true amalgamation of academia and social consciousness.
