The Department of History of this College began its journey with the opening of the general Course in 1964 and the Honors Course in 1970. Since the beginning the department continues to create an environment to promote a better understanding of human experience through the lens of history. Currently there are seven faculty members in the department, who provide a friendly environment in the teaching-learning process as they go beyond the scheduled hours of classroom teaching. The faculties concerned are easily approachable and never hesitate in extending personal care to each and every student in their need.
Regular students’ seminars, excursion etc., are organized to develop intellectual capabilities of the students. The department has organized one international seminar in 2018 where academicians and scholars participated from different corners of the country.
